The flower is undoubtedly Murakami's most identifiable motif – you know, the ones with rainbow-colored petals and a happy face in the pistil – so it's no surprise that a section of the exhibition is devoted to these pieces. This piece uses intense neon colors rather than Murakami's customary brilliant hues and is painted on platinum leaf, creating an unusual texture reminiscent of stained glass.
